Flagstar and Detroit FinTech Bay Announce Startups for Mortgage Tech Accelerator Program

Flagstar Bank and Detroit FinTech Bay have announced the first startups to participate in the Flagstar Mortgage Tech Accelerator Program. The three companies are Brace, which focuses on servicing non-performing loans; boost.ai, which develops A1-based chatbots for the banking sector; and Home Captain, a real estate SAAS technology company that acts as a conversion optimization system.

Maissan Almaskati, chief executive officer of the FinTech Consortium in the United States, said: “We’re thrilled to be working alongside Flagstar and these three exciting, high-quality fintech startups. We’ve curated an acceleration roadmap for each of them, and look forward to facilitating and supporting their growth during this important phase. DETROIT, Mich., Aug. 14, 2019 – Detroit FinTech Bay announced today that it will open its doors in TechTown Detroit. The partnership comes a year after global firm FinTech Consortium first announced the presence of a Bay in Detroit. Additionally, Detroit FinTech Bay announced today that the first cohort of its Flagstar Mortgage Tech Accelerator will launch in the space in September 2019.

InsurByte: Reimagining Insurance - Highlight Videos

Bahrain FinTech Bay held InsurByte 2019 under the patronage of Central Bank of Bahrain titled “Reimagining Insurance” on June 12th & 13th at the Gulf Convention Centre. The two-day event was in strategic partnership with the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), Tamkeen, the Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA), and FinTech Consortium.
 
45 speakers, and 300+ delegates from various industries attended the conference discussing the challenges, trends and opportunities in the insurance space in Bahrain.
 
The second and final day of the 2019 InsurByte conference emphasized the importance of AI within the Insurance industry, and the way forward in InsurTech as the market for online insurance products and services will continue to grow.

We hosted our InsurByte 2019 conference — the first InsurTech conference in the MENA, where we launched our newest Insurance Digitalization Report 2019. We also concluded our first Georgetown FinTech Course with the graduation of 55 high potential candidates. June was also a month in which we expanded our partnership circle to include Mastercard whom we are delighted to further develop our ecosystem with.

FinTech Consortium Announces The Launch of Silicon FinTech Bay

Redwood City, Calif., May 29, 2019 - FinTech Consortium USA (FTC) today announced the launch of Silicon FinTech Bay (SFB), a fintech corporate acceleration and startup incubation hub located in Redwood City.

The announcement marks the first opening of a physical North American location for the global FinTech brand. DBM Cloud Systems, Flagstar Bank, Franklin Templeton, Fujitsu Laboratories of America and Principal Financial Group are welcomed as initial founding corporate partners, inadvance of SFB’s June opening. 

 

Furthermore, Greg La Blanc, faculty director of the Berkeley Fintech Institute and distinguished teaching fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, HaasSchool of Business, was welcomed as an independent director of SFB’s advisory board.

National FinTech Talent Program Kick Off

In partnership with Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, we were excited to kick-start the first cohort of the Georgetown Professional Development Course in FinTech. The Georgetown FinTech Course welcomed 25 fresh Bahraini graduates who were provided the opportunity to join the Certified FinTech Course through the National FinTech Talent Program.

Bahrain FinTech Bay and Tamkeen Launch the Middle East Region's First National FinTech Talent Program (FTP)

Manama, 06/01/19, Bahrain FinTech Bay and the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” announced in a press conference yesterday the launch of its FinTech Talent Program focused on the training and development of Bahrainis and is the first and only of its kind in the Middle East.

 

The inaugural FinTech Talent Program (FTP), supported by the Tamkeen ‘Labor Fund’, has been developed in partnership with global experts in finance and technology, including Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business- and international blockchain and artificial intelligence academies. The FTP addresses the future skill requirements of Bahrain’s financial services industry as well as that of FinTech startups. It uniquely positions the country as a center of excellence for FinTech talent and prepares Bahraini graduates for careers in FinTech innovation and strategy.

FinTech Consortium Announces Launch of SG FinTech Bay

SINGAPORE, 18 December, 2018 - FinTech Consortium today announced the launch of SG FinTech Bay, its Singapore FinTech platform. FinTech Consortium is expanding its FinTech model after success in Bahrain and USA.

Bahrain-Singapore financial cooperation signed

Manama, Nov. 13: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster innovation in financial services between the two countries.  

 

The MoU aims at mutual cooperation, supervision and support between the Central Bank of Bahrain and Monetary Authority of Singapore to facilitate the exchange of information on trends and developments in emerging fintech and innovation projects in Bahrain and Singapore. The MOU will also contribute to a common framework to help fintech companies prepare for regulatory requirements in both countries.
